And now…our feature presentation.

I enjoy movies. I enjoy going to the movies. In fact, if I had to make a list of my favorite things, these two would be towards the top. Truth be told, it’s not too difficult to tell how much I enjoy movies…especially from the collection of ticket stubs, movie rewards cards, and growing stack of DVDs living in my bedroom. I’m a fan, what can I say?

Movies can be more than just a form of entertainment; they can become a spectacular event. The experience itself of going to the movies makes it worth it. Seeing a film on a gigantic screen with surround sound, comfy seating, no cellphones, no distractions, buttery movie popcorn, and the anticipation that comes with seeing a movie for the very first time is awesome.

Plus with an endless list of genres, there tends to be a little something for everyone. In the mood for a thriller with loads of action and a scene devoted solely to the most intense car chase you’ve ever seen? Want to end up laughing so hard that you cry during a comedy with today’s up and coming comedians? Feeling the need to be inspired by a film based on a true story that will completely change your perspective on life? Wishing to relive the spectacular stories of your latest read up on the big screen? Seeking adventures all over the world, but not quite able to leave town? Enter a trip to the movies here.

A variety of stories appear on those giant screens and captivate audiences all over the world. For some, going to see a movie is a bit of an escape from the real world and a passageway into a new one. In a way, seeing a movie is like experiencing a book without bindings, without limitations of the written word, a masterpiece of visual storytelling. Movies influence and inspire minds, the best ones change you ever so slightly from the person you where before you viewed it. Whether they cause you to laugh out loud or shed a tear, cause your blood to boil or your worldview to expand, or leave you with endless questions, movies elicit emotions and thoughts that reach far beyond our expectations.
And that my friends, is why I’m such a fan.

Aren’t movies just the greatest?
